WORDS
“Your exhibit is breath taking — we are so glad we made the trip. So much work, lucky for all who are fortunate to lay their eyes upon your work and read insightful descriptions as elegant as your pieces. So filled with LIGHT and LUMINESCENCE. So many of them seemed to glow. We tracked every piece down, up the stairs and around the cat-walk into the office, where we met Heidi the “curator”— who was lovely and beyond delighted with how it all looks. Everything hung so creatively… How you used clear thin dowel in gallery, then on stairwell how you hung those pieces from a tiny metal rod within the open frame so the pieces move and the light gets through.
This is how I describe my experience for now:
Elemental
Intimate
Luminescent
Liminal
Experiential
Multi-textural
As if lit within
Mesmerizing play of fibers
Soulful
Living Torah
Sacred text in gossamer threads
Portal to the ethereal
I would go again (and again)
Amazing, thank you, with all our love,”

“Catherine’s work is a resurgence of the sacred Feminine in Judaism. Each piece uniquely calls forward deep, gentle and ancient power. She captures the heart of Jewish prayer and wisdom through her genius and masterful compilations of elegant hand-dyed silk, hand stitching, and hand-painting to visually enliven concepts, art, and imagery that hearken from the roots of Israel. If properly attended, this exhibit has the capacity to ring in the bones of the observer and whisper reminders of Truth through a melody of graceful color. Notice how the careful layering of silks and images captures the soft golden light at the heart of Judaism.”

“I am so glad I saw your show before it ends — wow, wow, wow! I loved your explorations of meaning, history, lightness, and the interplay with the fabric and thread with all of the above. You are amazing, and your skill is impressive. I also loved the way the pieces were hung and layered — everything so thought out.”— Emily“Beautiful, etherial, inspiring.”

“Thank you so much. I feel a real pride that you have inhabited a monumental space with a beautiful voice of a woman singing and singing beside Mesaic presence and Torah-not to be appreciated but to give us sacred words.”
